MATHEW NIRANJAN ALEXANDER

Born: JUNE 30th 1956               Called To Rest: APRIL 28th, 2023

Mathew Niranjan Alexander passed away in Chilaw, Sri Lanka on 28 April 2023 after a brief illness. He was the first born son of late A. R Alexander (Thiagu) and Terese (nee Sabapathy). Husband of loving wife Christine, and dear father to beloved sons Jonathan, Michael, Joshua and Aaron.

 

Niranjan was predeceased by his brother Antonio Dushianthan (Dushi) and his presence will be forever cherished by his sisters Sherin Vasukhi (Christie Emmanuel), Irine Janaki and brothers Joseph Arjunan (Shirani), Savio Nakulan (Diane) and Pio Jeevahan (Shanta).

 

He was the son-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thambyrajah (Malaysia) and will be missed by his brothers-in-law Anthony (Therese, Australia), Henry (Canada), and sisters-in-law Noeline (Marein Emmanuel, Canada), Nancy (Malaysia) and Evelyn (Arul Benedict, Sri Lanka).

 

He will be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews; Amanda (goddaughter), Alexander Amitesh, Adrian Roumesh, Aarabi, Aaranya, Athaana, Akileish, Aishwini, Ajetesh, Arveenesh, Ahjaiy, Amaran, Arinen, Ambicka, Ahillan, as well as Pravin, Benjamin, Kevin and Mark.

 

Niranjan was known for his passion for learning. He was an innovative businessman who was curious about the unknown; he had a zeal for life and a mind for discovery. His jovial character, love of animals and youthful spirit brought joy to many. 

 

A loyal devotee to God, and a spiritual leader in his community; Niranjan was strong in his beliefs and enjoyed spreading knowledge to those around him. He loved to challenge others in conversation, constantly bringing new perspectives. He was principled, genuine and always stayed true to himself. 

 

His continuous love of life despite the many hurdles he encountered, made him an inspiration to all those around him. He will always be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
