Mary Emelda (Mani) Mariampillai
Mary Emelda Mariampillai, lovingly known as Mani, of Karampon, Kayts, Sri Lanka, passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on May 11th, 1938, Mary lived a life defined by kindness, devotion and an unwavering love for those around her.
She was the beloved wife of her late husband, Joseph Saverimuthu Regy,
A cherished mother to Joe Balakumaran, Gerard Jeyakumaran, Jude Devakumaran, Julian Rajakumaran, Bernard Uthayakumaran, Sherin Niranjani, Gerome Chandrakumaran and Norin Vanmala.
Mary was a devoted mother-in-law to Sharmini, Nilani, Judini, Roshani, Loraine, Rohan and Gerry
Proud grandmother to Danista, Juliya, Kevin, Jessica, Jason, Nathan, Thiraveen, Kenneth, Katie, Jeremy, Joshua, Jordan, Amutha and Oviya.
She welcomed with love her grandsons‑in‑law, Keston and Darren, who became cherished members of the family.
She was also blessed to be the great-grandmother of Analia Keston.
She is remembered as the loving sister of late Allin, late Ariyam, late Baby, late Mable, late Arasaratnam, late Malar and Late Selvaratnam.
She was also the sister-in-law of late Rajadurai, late Thilagam, late Pius, late Rasiah, late Anthonipillai, Mani Arasaratnam and Pushparani.
A service to honour Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, commencing at 10:30 am with a Holy Mass at Holy Redeemer Church, 796 Eyer Drive, Pickering, ON, L1W 3C2, Canada.
Burial will follow at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery & Reception Centre, 7770 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, ON, L6B 1A8, at 12 noon.
Mary Emelda (Mani) will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends and all who were touched by her gentle spirit.
