ANTONIO DUSHIANTHAN ALEXANDER

Dearly beloved son of the late A.R Alexander & Terese (née Sabapathy) passed away suddenly leaving the entire family shocked and devastated.
As “super-dad” to his 14 year old son Adrian and devoted partner to Nirmala Viswanathan, Dushi, known as Antonio to his friends, is irreplaceable.
Ever caring, loving, and committed brother of Mathew Niranjan (Christine), Sherin Vasukhi (Christie Emmanuel), Joseph Arjunan (Shirani), Savio Nakulan (Diane), Pio Jeevahan (Shanta) and Irine Janaki. Dushi will always be the missing link in the family.
Fishing buddy, camping guru, mentor and loving uncle to Jonathan, Michael, Joshua, Aaron, Amanda, godson Alexander Amitesh, Aarabi, Aaranya, Athaana, Akileish, Aishwini, Ajetesh, Arveenesh, Ahjaiy, Amaran, Arinen, Ambicka and Ahillan.
An empathetic nephew to numerous uncles and aunts, and a jovial and fun loving cousin to many. Dushi will be forever missed at every gathering.
Entertainer, joker and storyteller, he will also be missed by hundreds of friends and colleagues around the world who he treated with equal care and compassion regardless of the length of his acquaintance.
Antonio’s genuine love for humanity and the extent to which he put everyone else’s needs above his own, leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled.

Mary Stella Rajeswary Mariampillai
Called to Rest: May 28th,2020
Mary re-joined the angels ever so peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, May 28. As she
took her last breath, she was holding her daughter's hand, listening to a recording of the
heartbeat of her future grandson, had spent the day listening to prayers and songs from friends and family, and was read her Last Rights.
Mary was fierce in her love and her adherence to her Catholic faith and its principles. She was a deeply traditional woman who honored the wisdom of her Sri Lankan Tamil teachings and was quick to make anyone a healing tea if they sneezed or sniffled. She was also refreshingly
modern in her ability to see similarities of the heart rather than differences of religion or
ethnicity. She had a strong sense of right and wrong - and inherently knew that compassion was always better than judgement.
She infused love into everything she did, especially in raising her children, Judith Sumathie
Mariampillai and Danial Umakanthan Mariampillai, and in embracing her daughter-in-law, Molly May McKay and her extended family. Mary and her husband of 43 years, Roche Phillip
Mariathas Vijayakanthan Mariampillai, were like two peas in a pod, opposites in certain ways
but both overflowing with love for the other and their family. She came to Canada to marry him, arriving in snowy Edmonton on December 21, 1976.
Mary was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka to the Late Anton and Cecilia Daisy Kumarasamy, and
she was the daughter-in-law of the Late Thambiayah Emmanuel and Late Theresamah
Mariampillai.
She was a little woman in physical size, but a giant in her love and her ability to teach love. She had "Rules and Regulations" to teach loving respectful behavior and to help others exceed in life. As the eldest of ten children, Mary played a key role in caring for, raising, and sponsoring many of her siblings to come to Canada. She had a special way with children and giving them a sense of being loved and safe. She herself was a living miracle having defied the odds of a childhood illness and outlived the expectancy of her diagnosis. Her deep faith and generous
heart gave her superhuman strength and will be an inspiration to her family for the rest of their lives.
Mary's legacy is the love with which she gave and let guide her life, and through this, her
memory will live on for generations to come.
Due to Covid-19, viewings and the burial are by invitation only. Mary always thought flowers
were a silly thing to spend money on and would much prefer for people to send a donation to a
charity of their choice or to cancer research.

Mr Ivan Anandanayagam Pedropillai
Devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and retired senior finance professional, passed away peacefully on Tuesday 28 April 2020. He had been suffering from chronic kidney disease.
He was the loving husband of Indra Pedropillai and the dearest father of Ajith and Corinne, the supportive father-in-law of Damian and Marina and the proud, kind and caring grandfather of Rhys, Edward and Harry.
He was the eldest child of the late Mr Saverimuthu Pedropillai and the late Mrs Emily Pedropillai and the much-admired brother of Sheila Emmanuel (Toronto), Stella Joseph (Toronto), the late Sylvia Emmanuel (London) and the late Indra Swampillai (London).
In his professional career, he was the Deputy Finance Manager of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Financial Consultant with the Development Finance Corporation of Ceylon. In Zambia, he was the Chief Accountant with Refined Oil Products in Lusaka. In the United Kingdom he was as a Senior Finance Executive at the head office of the Royal Dutch Shell group in London. He was a respected financial professional and advised the UK Accounting Standards Board. He studied at the University of Ceylon, Colombo and later a Masters at The University of Loughborough, England.
In his retirement he was an author and writer, editor of the Tamil Writers Guild and a passionate advocate for the fair treatment of the Tamil people of Sri Lanka. He worked exhaustively to support the broader community and was dedicated to all those who sought his help and counsel.
He will be missed dearly by his in-laws, godchildren, nephews, nieces, family friends, work colleagues and the communities he befriended and supported. We take solace that he is finally able to rest and join with his beloved wife, Indra. May his soul Rest In Peace.

இவர் கிறிஸ்ரினாஜெயசீலி, காலம் சென்ற மரியாம்பிள்ளை ஜோசவ் ஆகியோரின் 2வதுமகனும்,
மேரிஅன்ரனற், காலம் சென்ற அல்விரெட் கனகசுந்தரி மரியதாசன்அவர்களின் மருமகனும்,
அசெம்ரா சுபோதினியின் அன்புக்கணவரும்,
மேரி ரம்யா, ஜோய், ஜெனிற்றா மதுஜா ஆகியோரின் அன்புத்தந்தையும்,
கனிஸ்ரனின் அன்புமாமனாரும்,
ஜூட்கோட்வின்,குளோட்கிளாற்வின்,ஜொஸ்லிற்மேவின், காலம்சென்ற
ஜூடித்மெர்லின் ஆகியோரின் சகோதரனுமாவார்.
